David Ornstein has come out in the last couple hours saying that right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has turned down a move to West Ham as he instead prefers a move to Italian champions Inter Milan.

Ornstein also says that "intermediary talks have taken place regarding a Denzel Dumfries and Aaron Wan-Bissaka swap deal, but nothing is advanced."

Dumfries is a player that we've been linked to in the past and is a man that manager Erik ten Hag has had his eye on ever since joining United two years ago.

This is a link to another Dutch player to add to the list that have been linked to MUFC since ten Hag's appointment.

This comes off the back of Wan-Bissaka being linked with West Ham as MUFC look to move players on that they feel are not part of first team plans for next season in a bid to free up space for new recruits.

United are struggling to remove players as the club appear to have stagnated when it comes to transfers as they need to sell to buy. Leny Yoro a week ago was the last piece of business that club has done in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

In that Athletic article, it goes on to say that West Ham are close to bringing in another United target in Noussair Mazraoui to the club. Ornstein says that "West Ham agree club and player deals" but that while it is close, the deal is not yet done.

In recent days, the Bayern right-back has been linked with United and be a potential replacement for AWB should he leave. However, with such news, it looks like United are going to miss out on another target.

Final Thoughts

I think that a move to West Ham or Inter will be good for Wan-Bissaka. Both are clubs where I believe he will get a lot of game time and thrive because they play a style that is more suited to him.

Swapping him for Dumfries isn't a bad idea either. Dumfries is better going forward and isn't too bad defensively. He will give us an extra better option as part of the squad and is probably better suited to challenge Diogo Dalot for that right-back spot than Wan-Bissaka.

The age profiles of both players aren't too bad as Dumfries is a year older than Wan-Bissaka at 28. The Dutch international is also quite experienced and has played top level football for a while.

This could work.

As for Mazraoui potentially going to West Ham, it is a little disappointing because he is a defender that I think could've worked well for United.

This would mean another target of ours is gone with United having to look elsewhere to improve at right-back, which we desperately need to.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
