First of all, £90m? For Bruno? The guy who has literally been our savior ever since he came to the club in 2020? The guy who has 95 goals and 81 assists in 277 matches? The guy who is our captain? The guy who is our best player? The guy who’s been one of the most creative players in Europe over the last five years? The guy who NEVER gets injured?

He’s the guy. He really is him.

90m 🙄. Southampton want more for fucking Tyler Dibling.

Anyway, the Sunday Express is where this news is coming from with them stating that “Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is a £90m transfer target for Real Madrid" via Transfer News Live.

However, in the last hour, more news has come out that apparently Ruben Amorim has informed United's board that they shouldn't even think about selling the captain.

"Ruben Amorim has made it clear to Sir Jim Racliffe and the Manchester United board that they shouldn’t even consider selling Bruno Fernandes as he is a big part of his plans for the future. [Daily Record]" via UtdXclusive.

Madrid don’t really spend that kind of money unless it’s for absolute world beaters which I guess you could consider Bruno as one of them. They usually just get players for free when looking at recent business.

If they wanted to get him next season, it definitely won’t be for free because his contract expires in June 2027 after signing an extension at the start of this season. With two years left on his deal, is £90m a fair price?

As mentioned, Bruno is so important to United in so many ways and unless he wants to leave or we get an offer we can’t refuse, then I don’t see how we let him go.

He is also going to be 31 in September which is another factor to consider in this potential transfer. Are Madrid willing to pay that money for that old a player? This would go against the business they’ve been known for doing as they usually go for guys in their mid-twenties or younger.

On the other hand, Bruno doesn’t get injured and is ever-present. We know what a machine he is and with Madrid’s injury issues in midfield, this could be a reason for them to want him.

Would he fit into their side though? To us United fans, that may seem like a stupid question however, for the 15x Champions League winners, maybe not.

Don Carlo has a heck of a lot of talent to choose from in his midfield with the likes of Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler and the superb Jude Bellingham who arguably plays in Bruno’s best position. The Englishman is also doing a fantastic job in Spain and is a favorite amgonst the Madridistas. Not sure they would want to see him dropped or moved out of position for Bruno.

There is also Luka Modric who seems to want to play until the end of time. The Croatian legend looks set to sign another new deal that will keep him in Madrid for one more season at the young age of 39.

Bruno’s versatility does give him a bit of a chance because as we’ve seen under Ruben Amorim especially, he is more than capable of playing in a deeper position whilst still creating and scoring.

He is also vastly experienced and can help some of the younger players although despite Madrid having some young players, they are all quite experienced themselves.

Could I see Bruno playing in Madrid’s team? I can see Bruno playing in pretty much all the top teams in Europe. I think his chaotic yet creative style could suit a Real Madrid. With them looking at signing Trent Alexander-Arnold it would suggest that they don’t mind these type of players who can be all over the place.

In January, we had the news that the club were looking to potentially sell Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho with the main objective apparently being to raise funds. United are struggling with money and I don’t need to tell you what measures we’ve gone through to try and save some so anything is possible with this club.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe did come out and clear up that United won’t be trying to sell young players for funds but he didn’t say anything about the Brunos of this world even though the INEOS Chairman was full of praise of the MUFC skipper.

I don’t think this deal will happen but it’s good to know that clubs like Madrid are looking at our players even if it is one we can’t afford to lose.

He will probably at some point want to move on (Bruno himself admitted that he had other offers last summer) indicating that he has that interest which is why I feel that maybe in time, he will go somewhere else.

Tbh, I can’t believe he’s stayed this long considering how shit we are. He absolutely deserves a better side as he’s too good a player to have won so little in his career.

What do you think will happen? Bruno will join Madrid? Join another club? Stay at United forever?

On Gyokeres to Arsenal, this came out last night as David Ornstein says that the Gunners are in the hunt for the Swede with their new Sporting Director Andrea Berta an ‘admirer’ of the Sporting striker.

Ornstein: “Arsenal developing strong interest in Viktor Gyokeres as possible striker signing. Andrea Berta firm admirer of 26yo #SportingCP forward - expected to figure prominently among #AFC options + may be more realistic than Isak.”

This is a bit of a worrying update because we know that the Athletic and Ornstein don’t play games. This confirms Arsenal’s interest in a striker that we could definitely use.

The interest with United is not only due to the fact that a new center-forward is deemed a priority but because of the previous between Gyokeres and Amorim. The United boss was his manager at Sporting before joining MUFC.

He is one of the hottest forwards in Europe with a staggering 42 goals and 11 assists in 42 games this season for his club. With numbers like those, Arsenal and United won’t be the only top clubs looking to sign the man behind the mask.

I’m more of an Osimhen guy myself but I ain’t gonna complain if we try for Gyokeres. He clearly is one hell of a striker and will take no time to get to grips with this system having played it (and played it pretty well) not so long ago.

We’ll just have to wait and see how things develop but it is a concern that Arsenal have this strong interest in him. They can offer him a lot more than us and are a side ready to go with only that striker missing.

We on the other hand…

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
