Fabrizio Romano said his famous three words regarding an exit from MUFC just days after confirming this potential move.

Winger Facundo Pellistri looks set to leave Old Trafford with a deal being agreed between United and Greek club Panathinaikos for €6m. The winger will sign a long-term contract in Greece.

Romano also says that the Panathinaikos' Uruguayan manager Diego Alonso was a key factor in the deal.

Final Thoughts

I've said before that I think Pellistri is a good player. Not one that I believe will start for United but could definitely be used as a squad player.

Cup games, coming on for 20-30 minutes during certain games and as a rotational player is what I saw Pellistri as. We need players like that who are also decent quality.

But it seems that Erik ten Hag was never a fan of the Uruguayan's as he rarely used him in his team. Pellistri is well down the list of wingers at United with all of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad, Antony and Jadon Sancho all being ahead of him.

We saw in the Community Shield that ten Hag brought him on at right-back in which he had to mark Jeremy Doku. That should've been an indication to all that he isn't part of the manager's plans.

Some (myself included) would say that Pellistri should be ahead of a couple of those wingers and that his more traditional style of play as a winger is something that we need instead of today's modern, inverted wide player.

I like that Pellistri would keep it simple, take a man on, go down the line and put in a cross. That is exactly what we need at times, or at least from one of the wings as too often, we are selfish down both flanks.

€6m is also waaaaaaayyyyyyyy too less for a player like him in my opinion. I know that we're not going to get £100m for Pellistri but he's surely worth more than that. We did only sign him for €8.5m in 2020 but the fact that he's going for so little doesn't sit well with me.

I think he's a better player than that and the Greek league with all due respect. I just hope it all works out for him.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
