We’ll bloody take it though. Fuck me we’ll take it.
I hope Fulham don’t have anything smashable in their dressing room 😅.
To be having to watch that garbage, we deserve something at the end of it so thank you Martinez 🙌.
A wasted 90 minutes of our lives was this game. We know that it’s always tight between Fulham and United but I think this was the most boring of the lot. The past games all had some action but this one, nothing, nothing.
This isn’t going to be much of a match review because there was not much going on.
The game started, it was slow and flat (as per us), Martinez got a deflected strike that went over the goalkeeper and into the net, we had a goal cleared off the line and we won.
That’s pretty much it 🤷♂️.

I was actually surprised with Fulham’s approach because they were kind of as flat as us. They did next to nothing which meant that there was always a chance that something fortunate could happen for United, as it did.
The only thing they did was have a header from a corner (surprise, surprise). Toby Collyer ended up clearing that off the line in a moment that was as important as the goal. That was seen by the reactions of his teammates in which they were ecstatic with that piece of defending which would definitely boost the youngster’s confidence.
We were truly awful but as they say, win when you’re playing badly. It’s the mark of champions 😅.
Amorim before the game said that performance didn’t matter as long as we got the result although it would’ve been nice to see us play some actual football.
I don’t think Amorim would be anywhere near happy with that from his team though. There was nothing about that that was actual football as there was no cohesion, rhythm or chemistry between his players.
To be fair to them, they do look like a tired team who’s played too much but even still, that was simply not good enough.
We don’t get the more dangerous players involved, we’re very slow, there is no urgency. The defense is the only area of the team that is looking good but then again, we do play with five defenders so...
However, while the back line was solid, with Onana in goal, you just never know. Thankfully he didn’t have much to do tonight.
We needed to win but I don’t want us to get back to that team that just grinds results like we did in the early days of ten Hag. We should be doing better than that.

Final Thoughts
Should really have went to bed with that performance. The good thing is that they at least gave us something to smile about with that win but really, what does this do for us?
At no point did we show anything close to resembling ‘Amorim ball.’ There was nothing, absolutely nothing that would suggest we can see something that would make us believe that we’re moving in the right direction in terms of playing how Amorim did at Sporting.
I don’t know what to make because these type of performances are becoming too frequent.
And I don’t like it.
At least we won though. But is that enough?
Ruben Amorim:
"It's not 40...I'm 50! After two months at Manchester United it's 50. It's a privilege to spend my 40th birthday here."
🤷♂️.
