Indeed, United and Erik ten Hag have made another new addition to the coaching setup. Dutch goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar joins the club after leaving Burnley while working under Vincent Kompany.

ten Rowelaar was also a coach for the U-20s Dutch national team as well as at NAC Breda in the Eredivisie.

The Dutchman was straight into action with some of the younger goalkeepers at the club such as Elyh Harrison, Radek Vitek and Dermot Mee as they prepare to face Rosenborg in Norway in the club's first pre-season friendly on 15 July.

Erik ten Hag on his new goalkeeper coach:

“Jelle is experienced with English football and he has some great innovations in goalkeeping, a new approach and it’s very interesting.
“I’m convinced he will really help our game, as a team, but especially the keepers, as a squad, as a team, their position in the team and how they’re aligned with the rest of the team and playing as a collective.”

Final Thoughts

Much like Rene Hake, I don't know much about ten Rouwelaar, I hadn't even heard of him tbh.

But the fact that Erik ten Hag is reshuffling the pack is good with me as I trust him. Hopefully he can make those improvements in the goalkeeping department that we need as Andre Onana was a bit hit and miss last season.

Welcome Jelle 👋.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
