It is reported that Erik ten Hag will be without another one of his players and midfielders for the foreseeable future.

Kobbie Mainoo becomes the latest player to catch the injury bug as the news around him is that he will be missing for at least the next month depending on his recovery and rehabilitation, via UTDMenace.

Mainoo was out of the game against Porto after he picked up a problem against Spurs causing him to be substituted at halftime. While he never featured in the 3-3 draw at the Estadio do Dragao, the 19-year-old did travel with the match day squad.

This indicated that his issue was nothing serious despite not being involved and was further vindicated by him playing against Villa on the Sunday, just three days after traveling to Portugal.

Mainoo then pulled out of the England squad for the recent internationals because of a problem which is probably related to his current injury.

Final Thoughts

Just another day at Man Utd I guess. Even if it's not the football or the manager, there is always some shit stirring at Old Trafford.

Considering our injury problems of last year in which we recordrd 75 different cases of injury across the campaign causing United to be the side who paid the highest price out of all PL clubs for the injuries suffered last season (The United Stand), you would think that the club would've tried to have sorted this issue out.

It seems that we have neglected an area of our club that was a red flag.

Mainoo hasn't been quite himself this season as there has been a very noticeable drop in quality. Compared to last year, the youngster was performing at a level that got him to a point where he was one of the best midfilders in the league.

This season so far, he looks very flat and slow, almost as if he's burnt out. Perhaps that is just it: burn out.

With the amounts of football nowadays, there is the big risk that players play too much and could get injured. That is something many have said to be a reason as to why we've seen an underperforming Mainoo.

As he is so important and had been performing so well, ten Hag needed him in the team as others such as Casemiro and Mount are unreliable for differing reasons, the manager has not been using Ugarte (who is now injured as well), and Collyer being a youngster himself, we had no one else to call upon and so, Mainoo had to play.

This caused the manager to not be able to rotate him resulting in this constant need to play.

What I can't understand though, is that while maybe rotating him was difficult, when he was taken off at halftime against Spurs, why did we then take him to Porto even if he didn't play? He should've just stayed in Manchester.

To then ask him to play in a tough game at Villa Park just three days later was even more stupid. If we knew he wasn't 100%, why risk him? Even if it meant having to play Casemiro who isn't at his best, do it instead of risking injury to Mainoo.

Oh, and also he should've played his new midfielder Ugarte who didn't play at all in the games against Porto and Villa. Why not use him?

This is where the club, manager and player have to look at themselves. They should've known better.

United are also picking up more and more injuries and so can't really afford to be losing more players. Him not playing for England was something I thought was a good thing as it could've given him that break he needed to try and be refreshed for this weekend's game against Brentford, an all important game (Saturday, 15:00 BST kick off).

With Mainoo out, that means he is now the 12th player to have picked up something this season. United's current injury list:

Noussair Mazraoui

Harry Maguire

Tyrell Malacia

Leny Yoro

Luke Shaw

Mason Mount

Manuel Ugarte

Kobbie Mainoo

Amad (potentially)

Alejandro Garnacho (potentially)

Why are we still picking up so many injuries???

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
