Leny Yoro injured

Is it a bad thing though?

Well, yes, yes it is, but as I'm trying to look at it in a positive light, perhaps there could be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Of course I don't want to see him (or any player for that matter) injured but it's not like we hadn't just been through the worst season ever in terms of injuries so this is nothing new.

It's more a 'welcome to the club' in more ways than one for Yoro.

There has been no update on Leny Yoro and the extent of his injury. We are still in the dark on whether he will be ready for Fulham in just over two weeks (I know, TWO WEEKS!) or whether he will be out for a considerably longer period.

Erik ten Hag was apparently a little worried that the 18-year-old's injury was worse than initially thought but did say we should know how bad it is within the next 24 to 48 hours.

It is almost time 😬.

Leny Yoro isn't particularly injury prone, which is a good sign. Then again, he is only a teenager, so there is enough time and you can become injury prone at any point, but let's not discuss such dark matters.

Why I'm looking at this in sort of a positive way is because it will now make United move even quicker in the transfer market to bring in a new centre-back.

We know we've been heavily linked to Matthijs De Ligt for basically all of the window and with an injury like this, perhaps the club may want to get that deal done sooner rather than later.

United were/are still likely to bring in De Ligt or another centre-back regardless of Yoro's situation however, as nothing is set in stone, you just never know.

Which is why I say this Yoro injury could be some sort of blessing in disguise.

Without that proper modern centre-back to partner Lisandro Martinez - who will most likely be one of the starting CBs alongside Yoro - it will mean that either of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof or Jonny Evans will have to partner the butcher instead.

With one of them as his partner, it would be like playing with one centre-back.

With all due respect to Maguire, Lindelof and Evans, none of them are anywhere near the quality required to play in the modern game even though they all do have their strengths.

And with Lindelof, he has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford as former MUFC boss Jose Mourinho wants to bring the Swede to Fenerbahce much like he did when he brought him to United.

Should he leave, that would mean we only have Martinez, Maguire, Evans and Yoro, when he's back available as the ONLY centre-backs.

Not good enough although yes, if the iceman is sold that would probably mean De Ligt would come in but we needed to bring him in anyway whether Lindelof stays or go because we really do not want to be going from Martinez and Yoro to Martinez and one other, and it ain't as though the butcher himself is completely reliable.

If he too gets injured, my God, we could see them return 😬.

I can't even say their names.

If you don't know who I'm referring to, it is that favoured pairing of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's.

If we have to use them again, we won't be able to play any ten Hag ball. It will most likely be something similar to what we saw last season in either the entire team will have to sit deep because of centre-backs who just can't play the modern way or the defense (and particularly centre-backs) will sit deep with the rest of the team further forward which leaves that gap the size of the universe in midfield resulting in us being overrun.

Even if it's Martinez and another, that is still a problem because we will have to accommodate for the other defender.

Yeah, we need De Ligt, and preferrably before that game against Fulham in case Yoro isn't back.

I understand that we look to be in a sell-to-buy situation but as we are sort of desperate given Yoro's injury, we need to find some way to get De Ligt over the line regardless of needing to sell.

So perhaps it could be a blessing this Leny Yoro injury?

Just bring in De Ligt already. Would calm us all down a lot.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
