Or he was drunk π€·π .
But the Portuguese defender came out and backed Portuguese manager Amorim by saying that he believes he can bring the PL title back to Old Trafford!
The right-back turned left-back turned left wing-back was talking to Manchester United' Supporters' Clubs at the Theatre of Dreams in which he make this huge claim.
βIf you want me to be completely honest, with this manager, I think we can win a Premier League."
Dalot then added that while he believes this can "realistically" come to pass, "it will take time" something that he says that fans won't want to hear.
What else was interesting from Dalot's interview was that he said that United have to "adapt to the system" and that the correct environment needs to be made for Amorim to succeed at United.
This was more eye-opening that winning the league to be honest.

β
That's because we just had the news that apparently the players would like the manager to tweak his system a little in order for them to be more settled and able to play a style more suitable to them.
Who these players are, I don't know, but from his comments, perhaps Dalot isn't one of them?
I also find that the way he conducts himself doesn't suggest someone who is unprofessional even if at the moment, Dalot is pants.
So for him to say that they have to adapt to the manager's system is interesting as so far, there has been nothing to suggest that this is possible. If anything, the statement about them wanting a tweak is more realistic because we've seen that before and again, we're clearly not improving our play style under Amorim making it harder to believe Dalot that the players are trying to adapt to a 3-4-3.
I think the explanation for this is simple: they're shit.
That's it.
β
We could make a case that some may have the wrong attitude but I do think that we've started to move those type of players on and the dressing room doesn't appear as toxic, at least to me.
So I don't think that attitude is necessarily as big a problem as before but that it's now just that the players are simply not Man United level.
Dalot is a great example as like I said, he is one of the players that displays the right attitude and work rate but just isn't very good at the moment. I think that that is more the problem.
β
We have too many players that are showing an inability to adapt to Amorim's formation and tactics which could go back to them apparently wanting a tweak to that system.
For a long time, these players have played a very basic brand of football, one that was defend and counter which worked (to an extent) but in the long run, never brought us any success.
This is also not the football we want to or were used to seeing at Old Trafford. Amorim was brought in to change that by doing what he did at Sporting here.
This is when he needs the right players.
β
Clearly this system works. His Sporting team were unbeatable and played some awesome ball and were flying high domestically and in Europe. One of Amorim's final games in charge of Lisbon was that 4-1 win over City.
It shows that with the right personnel, the 3-4-3 has the potential to be very successful.
Antonio Conte won the Premier League with this formation when in charge of Chelsea in 16/17; Thomas Tuchel took Chelsea to Champions League glory with a 3-4-3; Atalanta have been very successful under Gian Piero Gasperini as they knocked out Liverpool en route to lifting last season's Europa League in which they stopped Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen from going the entire season unbeaten. These two sides play 3-4-3.
It isn't the system.
β
It also doesn't take a system change to tell us that these players aren't good enough. They've shown that they have the potential to win a cup or two but to lift the big ones, not a chance.
You can get away with it in the cups because those are one-off matches as we saw against Leicester last Friday. To win a league though, you need to be a lot more consistent and for that, you need a system that works with players that work in it.
We don't have that and all this new formation has done has made it even clearer that our group of players are not technical nor smart enough to change their way of playing.
β
This is where the club will have to back the manager and create that environment that Dalot is talking about so as to allow Amorim to have the best chance of becoming successful.
As we know at United, the culture is terrible and that is one of the biggest things that need to change. Those at the top have all the power to make these ammendments but they have to show that they care enough to make said changes otherwise this position we're in as a football club will remain for years to come.
From what we've seen as well, the club haven't actually looked to have changed much.
β
INEOS never really backed Amorim in January nor did they truly get rid of players that needed to be moved on. While Dorgu and Heaven are potentially good players, we don't know whether they are what we need now. Removing some of the wages and to an extent, problem, of Rashford and Antony, that still wasn't enough because they are still United players.
They needed to be sold which would've allowed us to bring in the money needed for us to buy players given the sell to buy policy.
Not bringing in the necessary recruits actually weakens this already depleted squad. No Rashford and Antony means two fewer bodies to play. We could need them or at least one of them as Rashford wasn't used by the manager.
The only forwards we possess are Hojlund, Zirkzee (two players who don't look it at the moment), Amad and Garnacho. All of them are young and should these last two get injured or lose form, then what?
This is why we needed at least one more (preferably experienced) forward in January to give us something in that attack.
So with this type of business, could it be a sign of how we will operate in the future?
If so, then this statement by Dalot that we could win the league under Amorim will look even more foolish than it already does.
β
The manager's contract ends in June 2027 which is in just about 2-and-a-half years time. Without proper backing and a better environment, will he manage to win us a trophy in his time at Old Trafford let alone the league?
I always felt that this contract was too short but it seems to be the norm nowadays. There is that option for a further year but is 3 years long enough for him to win a PL title?
Dalot says that we will have to wait a while to see something like this happen. How long is a while?
Yes we are impatient as fans and I'm sure they all are at United as well but more than anything, we'd just like to see some improvement somewhere in the club be it on the field or off it.
β
The new co-owners aren't on everyone's good side as they keep making unpopular decisions and the players aren't either given their excuses and poor performances for a long time.
WE'RE 13TH LADS!!! 13TH!
That doesn't seem to be reason enough for anyone to go out there and try to make things better.
β
United have somehow managed to win six of their last eight which is weird because it feels more like the opposite to that with the reason being that the football is dire, the players aren't good enough and the club haven't really done anything about it.
So while this comment by Dalot is nice it's not something that I felt wasn't possible under ten Hag, Ole and of course Mourinho. I thought we could do bits with them in charge but look what happened?
As far as I'm concerned, not much has changed and if anything, we're getting worse.
β
Whether we can win a league under Amorim or not remains to be seen but at this point, whether we win another league in our lifetime's seems highly unlikely.
What are your thoughts on Dalot's comments that we can win the league under Amorim?
Or are you thinking what is this brudda drinking?
That could perhaps explain his performances too π .
