Amorim saw his Man United side put in another performance that would've made most League One sides look like prime Barcelona.
We were truly awful as yet another relegation threatened team in Leicester came and walked all over us in our own backyard, something that everyone seems to be doing nowadays.
Scraping over the line be it through luck or not simply will not cut the mustard for much longer. This was the first game where I and many fans felt a little concerned about the manager when looking at his selections and tactics as so far, he's been absolved of blame.
Last night though...
1. Different set-piece routine
Almost all crosses from corners or free-kicks produced something different from Bruno.
He tried a couple balls around the corner instead of just putting it in the box, he played a deceiving short pass to Amad on one occasion and he even tried a speared corner that almost resulted in us conceding on the break.
We know that we've been struggling with set-pieces in both boxes so could this be a sign that perhaps United and set-piece coach Andreas Georgson are trying to mix things up?
Something different needed to be done although the late (lucky) winner did come from a more routine delivery.
2. Can't do basics
Yep, we can't football.
We can't pass, we can't shoot, we can't control, we don't defended properly, our midfield is all over the place, we can't create anything in attack.
We can't do A N Y T H I N G!!!
When your players struggle to do football 101, then the chances are you're going to fail. Every game, we see the same issues reappear as United never seem to improve from their mistakes.
Heavy touches, overhitting or underhitting passes, not playing the right pass, taking too long in possession, not making the right movements. These are all things you would expect players of Man Utd to be able to do,
at Academy level.
3. Keeping things simple work
I know I mentioned that we tried something new from set-pieces but that it was a more simple ball that actually got us the winner but I don't mind trying out out of the box stuff when it comes to corners and free-kicks especially when looking at how poor we are from them.
But in terms of open play, why we try to do too much when the simple thing is on makes little and less sense.
When we moved the ball quickly, made the correct movement and played the pass first time, we actually looked like a decent footballing outfit.
Leicester were doing this all game and is kind of a worry that a relegation team who had lost seven of their previous eight and with a newer manager than ours, came to Old Trafford and played like an actual team, is not a good sign for Amorim.

When Garnacho came on, he started doing a lot of these simple things. He was taking players on, getting down the line and putting balls into the box. This is exactly what we want from our winger.
Garnacho has now gone down the line and produced this type of play on a few occasions this year. Liverpool, FCSB and now Leicester were all examples of him doing this perfect left-winger play.
It's also another indication of how much he has improved and refined his game and more importantly, simplified how he performs.
Amad too was going down the right more as he was direct in that second period after having moved to the RWB position, a position that many believe is his best spot in the team.
The problem was that we only showed this simplification to our play style in certain instances rather than throughout the game.
It also shows the importance of Garnacho to this team because of his ability to make things happen. No one else was doing anything like him which was proved as he won man of the match despite only playing a half of football.
4. Amorim got it wrong
Simplify your game is what I wanted to tell him for this match.
There was a bit of an imbalance to the starting lineup upon first glance in my opinion. I didn't actually like that team. Personnel wise it was ok but positional, not so much.
The way it was laid out on the field made me feel even more uneasy about how I thought the match was going to go.
I was proved right because that imbalance was clear to see, we had no chemistry and rhythm (not like we do anyway) and the position of Dorgu just made this more apparent.
We needed a LB/LWB for a while. We sign a LB/LWB and then proceed to use him on the right whilst keeping an underperforming RB on the left.
What the actual fuck?!
Nobody could understand that.
I believe that the manager perhaps overthought this game with that selection. Trying to overcomplicate things when we can't even do the basics is foolish. This is much too technical for these players.
Just put square pegs in square holes. It's something we complained a lot about with ten Hag and look how that ended.
Another thing we had a massive problem with under the previous manager was his favoritism.
Erik ten Hag would constantly pick players that were playing terribly and it became a bit unhealthy. It sort of worked against those players at times too as they could've used some rest at times.
Amorim looks to be doing the same with Bruno and Dalot. Whether that is Portuguese bias from the Portuguese manager, I do not know, but something ain't right there.
Bruno and Dalot are two players that we cannot question there endeavor and attitude but their quality is just lacking. They also look to be running on empty as they play too much football which is another reason for them to be benched.
He also should've taken them off in this game as Ugarte needed more help in midfield as Bruno was not aiding him at all while Dalot couldn't have been worse if he tried. He should've been subbed instead of Dorgu with the new signing moving to the position we actually brought him in for.
That could've given us the balance we needed.
This performance by Amorim really was very ten Haggy. That isn't a good thing.
5. We're getting worse
I don't know how that's possible but that is what I believe is happening and the manager doing stupid things in terms of playing players out of position and having favorites doesn't make things any easier.
The level of opponent that is now giving us a lot of trouble are relegation level. They're actually performing better than us, AT HOME!
We went from losing to the likes of Spurs and Liverpool earlier in the season to then being outplayed by sides like Forest and Bournemouth (although those two are brilliant this season), to then being comprehensively defeated by mid-table Brighton to a point where 18th and 20th placed teams are outperforming us.
The football has also deteriorated from when Amorim first came in (not that it was anything to write home about then) but we've just gotten worse.
We all thought that the results and more importantly performances at Liverpool and Arsenal at the start of the year would be the point where we kick on. To be able to perform like we did there was completely unforeseen and could've (and should've) given us the confidence moving forward.
However what we've seen thereafter is what we've seen thereafter.
We should be improving under a new manager who is a top coach. Yes the system is new and different but he's been here two months and we are worse off now than when he started.
What is wrong with us?
