Man Utd players turn on Amorim?

Seems like it's about that time again ๐Ÿ™„

"Some players are beginning to lose faith in Amorim's system as results and performances continue to suffer. Amorim may still have their support, but confidence in his methods is inevitably starting to ebb" - Chris Wheeler via The United Stand.

"Players are starting to no longer trust him. Ten Hag's intensity, which was widely praised and seen as a positive last season, is now seen as a problem and some doubt he will change his approach to try and end the alarming run of performances. This has translated into a lack of confidence in how he prepares the team to win games" - The Athletic via UtdPlug.

"Many of the #mufc players are underwhelmed by Rangnickโ€™s coaching, not impressed by his tactics and disappointed by the quality of his assistants" - Disco Mirror, Darren Lewis via utdreport.

"It's understood that #mufc players don't trust Solskjaer tactics and feel he is out of his depth compared to managers at the bigger clubs, namely Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel" - Simon Stone via The United Stand.

These are the reports we've had from the dressing room for the last four managers which of course, includes Ruben Amorim.

He along with Erik ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all had similar leaks from the United dressing room about how the players are unhappy with the style of play, that the manager needs to change something as the coaching is inadequate, tactics are crap and blah blah blah.

When this first happened about 4 years ago under Ole, I think we all thought that maybe it was correct. Solskjaer had a pretty great squad in terms of quality in his final season in charge so for him to not get the best out of the likes of Ronaldo, Cavani, Pogba, Bruno, Rashford, Varane and the rest made us think that perhaps he isn't the guy to take us forward.

The MUFC legend also didn't win anything in his time at the club while the football was also pretty basic. Maybe he was not the level required.

โ€

We never took things as seriously as we should've under Rangnick when we heard the same being said of him because he hadn't been a coach for a while and he was only an interim. We knew whatever happened, it wasn't going to last.

However, it was around the German's time in charge that us fans and everyone in football started to realize that maybe it isn't actually the managers or at least not just the managers, but that the players were also not good enough.

Rangnick's now famous 'open heart surgery' quote made us think twice about solely blaming the coach for where we were at those points and where we still are as this comment is still true 3 years later.

He was then sacked despite having a consultant role for the next 2 years with ten Hag following him.

โ€

We were all super excited because we saw what he did at Ajax and were hopeful that he would bring that to Old Trafford. ten Hag was also the manager that the fans wanted whereas it seemed that the United board preferred Mauricio Pochettino.

They obviously went with the Dutchman.

That didn't go exactly according to plan because he ended up abandoning his approach a couple of games in because of two hefty defeats.

While for the next little while, things looked to be moving on up for ten Hag and United as results and performances started to improve eventually, his side and basic style was found out.

MUFC then also had some pretty horrendous results and performances including the infamous 7-0 at Anfield despite winning the Carabao Cup not long before this decimation.

The football he was playing was nothing like what was seen at Ajax as that was something more modern and attacking whereas what ten Hag was doing at United was very much defend and counter.

That wasn't why he was wanted at United and we really were begging to see what we saw at Ajax. The Dutchman then dropped quite a comment in which he said that we would never see the football we saw at Ajax at United because he has different players.

That for me was saying in a nice way that these players are shit and will never be able to play a modern style of football because they cannot play that way.

This comment was what we all feared as we were beginning to think that maybe these players simply do not have the quality to play something like Man City.

While ten Hag managed to win two trophies (somehow) the overall style of play was never anything special and was something more along the lines of what Solskjaer did during his time. It seems that that was the only way these players could perform well.

โ€

He was then sacked because I believe he wanted to transition back to 'ten Hag ball' but couldn't because these players were/are incapable. The fact that he also had many of his own signings but still failed to improve was a reason for him to go as well.

With Amorim coming in in November, it was always going to be difficult for him to takeover mid-season. No pre-season, no signings, no players being sold and no time to work on his system which is completely different to anything we've seen at United.

Amorim was always going to struggle because of this yet when you're given the ultimatum of either signing for United now (November) or not at all, you'll sign now and hope that things go your way.

I'm sure he would have had assurances that he was going to get whatever he needed to improve things on the field as soon as possible however, that hasn't been the case and in fact, things have gotten worse because he wasn't backed in January, players weren't sold and those who went on loan, weren't replaced which made an already depleted squad much weaker.

He was set up to fail from the start and now he's seeing firsthand just how bad this current group of players truly are and what this club is all about. I guess that in a way, that's a positive but no one expected things to be this bad.

Amorim has suffered nine defeats in his 21 games which has caused all of this talk about him needing to change his style as this is a truly awful record. Even as someone who backs Amorim and thinks it's more on the club and players that we're in this mess, this amount of losses is far too much.

But ultimately, it is because of the club and players.

โ€

The board don't appear anywhere concerned enough to do something about it and the players can't be arsed, just as has been the case many times over the years.

This is why we're not falling for it again. To be having the same shit come out for the fourth straight manager just makes things even clearer that these players are not Man United-level players.

These tweets from over the years reminds of when you're copying your mate's homework at school but needed to change things up a little so as to not look exactly the same.

These reports may as well be the same as years ago with only the manager's name being changed.

I'm not exactly sure what system they'd like to play either. They've been shit with four at the back as well even though that is more the formation they may prefer.

These reports are just a waste of time nowadays. These players are seriously low IQ both on and off the pitch if they think we're going to fall for this again.

Knobs. GET THEM OUT!!!!

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
