Patrick Dorgu to Man United done?

Casemiro to Italy?

United are in desperate need of a left-back/left wing-back with Lecce's Patrick Dorgu being identified as the man to fill up that position, as has been reported for a while.

However, as of the early hours this morning, Fabrizio Romano says that "Manchester United feel they get Patrick Dorgu deal agreed in 24/48h!

Confident and optimistic after further talks with new official bid coming soon."

The price for the defender is said to be around the £30m mark which many deem to be too much for a player of his quality, position, age and experience.

With United being somewhat eager to bring the Dane in though, the club will most likely get the deal done despite a price that is a little excessive.

As for Casemiro, the Brazilian could (finally) be on the move out of Old Trafford as Roma in Serie A 'have asked for information' about the midfielder according to Sky Sports.

With the chances of them losing Leandro Paredes, the Italians are searching for his potential replacement with Casemiro in their sights.

The 32-year-old has hardly featured for United under Ruben Amorim as in the Portuguese's 17 matches in charge, Casemiro has played just 6 times and started just 4 of those. He has been an unused substitute in the last 6 games.

So I think we can take it as he is not one of the players that is favored by Amorim.

Final Thoughts

As mentioned before, I don't know much about Dorgu. I hadn't actually heard of him before we were linked to him to be honest. But the fact that he is left-footed and plays as LB/LWB, that is already an upgrade as we have NO ONE in that position. Dalot doesn't count because he has been shite although he is a right-back to be fair to him.

With Romano's update, I don't doubt that we should see him in a United shirt by the end of the week. Perhaps we could see him play against Leicester next Friday should all go to plan?

But for 30m? Not for me because that is much too much. I know that we need a player in that position but we shouldn't be overpaying for someone who is a defender, isn't that experienced, is quite young (20) and isn't proven to be the next Patrice Evra.

There is obviously a lot of potential there and there must be something about him that is causing Amorim to apparently be pushing for this signing.

Yet we shouldn't be having our leg pulled about having to pay £30m for this player. We're looking to sell Garnacho for around £60m. Dorgu being bought for half the price of what we could sell Garnacho for.

Do we think he is half the player Garnacho is? Do we think that a left-back is half the price of a potential Ballon d'Or winner at 20-years-old?

That's all I'm saying.

As for Casemiro, it's time for him to move on. It was time for him to move on a while ago but having played so little this season and in the last two months, he absolutely has to go. I'm sure he also wants to be playing football although to be sitting on your arse and earning £350k-a-week, isn't the worst thing, is it?

I'm not sure why much more hasn't been said about Casemiro as he is nigh on in the same boat as Rashford: experienced, talented, earning a lot of money but not in the team. The only difference is that Casemiro is at least on the bench whereas Rashford doesn't even make the matchday squad.

It's a pity how terribly it's gone for him at United after the career he's had and indeed that first campaign at Old Trafford in which I thought he was our player of the season. He was on another level and completely changed our midfield and overall team.

It's incomprehensible how he went from that to what we've seen in the last 18 months.

It's actually a little sad.

But to be frank though, this is more on him than anyone else. Whenever he has been called upon in this period, Casemiro has displayed a lack of quality as he looks slow, flat and lethargic out of possession and as bad with it. He constantly gives the ball away as his passing is so poor you'd think he was playing for the opposition rather than United.

That 3-0 loss to Liverpool earlier in the season was the game where I think it ended for him. That was a match where he really did look like he was playing against United as two of LFC's goals came because of poor giveaways by Casemiro.

Erik ten Hag then hooked him off at halftime for youngster Collyer.

That was the moment I think we all knew, it was over.

Going to Italy isn't actually a bad move, if it happens. That is one of the bigger leagues in football and certainly better than Saudi Arabia. He may not get as much money at Roma but he will still play at a high level and in a competitive league.

I believe that there is a chance that he could still do a job at somewhat of a high level too. Roma are also a respectable club so it could be a good move. It also wouldn't be the first time that a United player moved to Italy/Rome. Chris Smalling, Henrikh Mhkitarayan and Nemanja Matic all played for Roma and didn't do too badly.

What do you think about these potential deals?

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
