Yesterday it was announced by CEO Omar Berrada that the club aim to lift the Premier League by the year 2028 in honor of Man Utd's 150th year of existence.

In a meeting with Manchester United employees last Wednesday, the CEO shared the club's plans on how they will look to win the Premier League by 2028. This plan is shared by the football hierarchy and co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Final Thoughts

Well, I hope we win the league before that.

But in four years time, do I think we will be able to lift our trophy?

It's not impossible but it will be very difficult. There are several circumstances that need to go our way in order for this to happen.

The perfect squad needs to be built; we need it to be reliable; the football has to be great; our rivals have to be somewhat shit which I doubt will happen in the next four years. I suspect that there could be even more teams gunning for the title.

I do like the ambitions of INEOS and the fact that they're putting it out there. Saying it to the public also means there's no place to hide as they will have to stick by their word, something that I believe they will try their best to do.

I've been quite impressed with the new co-ownership as a lot of what they've done has been positive and when looking at their plans for the future (new training ground, potential new stadium, winning PL by 2028), I feel optimistic about the next few years.

Winning the Premier League should be something that United should always strive to do. That is the benchmark. Having not won it since 2013 and seen our biggest rivals lift it, it has been a painful watch even more so when our club has deteriorated.

City are now just 5 titles away from our record of 13 with that going down to 4 should they win the league this year, which they are heavy favorites to do so.

They're also most favorites to lift the title more often than not in the next few years up to and including 2028. If we do manage to win the title that season, it would be 15 years since number 13 was lifted in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season as manager.

I do believe there's a chance of winning it by then even if that seems like a long shot at the moment. But much can change in football and in a short space of time. We've seen gradual improvements from the team this season which gives me hope that should we continue to progress like this, there is that chance that we win our 14th PL by 2028, 150 years on from the club's inception.

I like the fact that such ambitions are being laid out as it puts some pressure on everyone currently at the club as they know what the hierarchy require of them. This is also pressure on the hierarchy themselves because we've seen their abilities when it comes to transfers but we'd also like to see what they can do on a bigger scale.

What do you make of "Project 150" and winning the league by 2028?

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
