Fabrizio Romano has come out with some interesting news regarding our very own born and bred Marcus Rashford.
Romano says that Aston Villa are in talks to sign the forward on loan!
"Unai Emery has given the green light to Aston Villa board to try advance on Marcus Rashford loan deal.
Expensive and difficult one but Villa have already approached Marcus' camo, strong interest...
...and negotiations ongoing."
A loan to Villa is perhaps not what United want considering we have to sell to buy and Rashford's potential sale could cough up a pretty price but I suppose that him going at all is a positive.
His wages of £300k-a-week is going to be too much for most clubs let alone Villa so trying to buy him on top of having to pay such wages (unless Rashford is willing to take a pay cut) is nigh on impossible.
A loan is not ideal but at least it is something.
Update
In the past couple of hours, Romano dropped another big update as he says that Rashford has agreed personal terms with Villa!
"Marcus Rashford has agreed personal terms with Aston Villa! Deal imminent after initial green light in the morning.Understand Villa and United are closing in on loan deal, discussing buy option clause.Emery called Rashford, player attracted by project & UCL football."
I've never been a massive fan of Rashford's although there was a point where I did like him but for a player with the quality he possesses, he is far too inconsistent and has too much of an unprofessional attitude.
When looking at him on the pitch, he does appear as if he doesn't care much as he jogs around a lot, doesn't track back when needed and throws his arms in the air in frustration without really showing any desire to get the ball back.
He's also had his problems off the field which don't make things easier.
With Amorim saying that he'd rather play the 63-year-old goalkeeping coach instead of a player who doesn't show the right attitude was pretty damning to Rashford. However, the manager has also stated that should Rashford start to show what Amorim wants, then they are more than happy to have him back in the team because United could do with a player of his quality.
But it has to be up to him, something that the MUFC boss said very early on in his reign at the club.

Rashford has obviously not shown this determination to get back in the team enough resulting in him not having featured since the 12th of December.
When he and Garnacho were left out of the matchday squad for the derby, I think we all thought that both players' times were up however, as we've seen with Garnacho, he has displayed that desire to give his best and improve as much as he can which has now earned him a place back in the side.
Getting back into an Amorim team is not impossible.
For Villa to be going for him does sort of make sense for them as they have just let Jhon Duran go to Al Nassr and Arsenal are looking at signing Ollie Watkins. They cannot afford to lose both and even one is a big loss so they do need someone in attack.
Rashford can provide this because he does have quality, is experienced in the Premier League and is entering his prime years. It's not a bad deal for them but like I said, he carries so much baggage.
Are Villa willing to take that baggage on board?
United and Amorim are also constantly asked about this player to which one can see the frustration on the manager's face whenever his name comes up. This is another reason to move him on as we then don't have to deal with this every day.
Rashford also needs to move for himself as he has been at United for a long time and it has never really gone as well as we'd all hoped. There were great moments and seasons but it was never sustained resulting in him being quite up and down.
I don't think he reached the heights he could've done given his ability. Perhaps he can rediscover some of that form he showed from 22/23 at Villa but clearly, it's not going to happen at United whilst Amorim is in charge.
Can he fit into Emery's system?
I believe he could but they do have talented hard working players themselves as Jacob Ramsey plays down that left-wing for them. It could be difficult for Rashford to get into this team but not impossible.
Rashford is also better suited to a counter-attacking style which isn't necessarily what I think Emery wants to do with his Villa team although it is something that they do relatively often and do well.
They already have speed on the break with Watkins and with creative players like Ramsey and Rogers, it could work for Rashford and Villa.
Whatever the case is, I think Rashford just has to move for all parties. It could be a good thing for him to get away from the spotlight that he is usually in at United and can maybe focus more on his football rather than everything else.
The pressure and expectations at Villa is also not at the same level as United so that could help him as well.
The fact that he's agreed personal terms suggests that this deal is almost done. It's also good that there is a buy option because we need to move him on permanently and get some money for him.
Playing Champions League football will no doubt have played a big part in Rashford making this call. Villa are also way higher than United in the league so to jump from 12th to 8th and EL to CL football plus play regularly for a good team and manager is a very nice prospect indeed.
I think this is a good deal.
