After his interim spell of four games in which the ex-striker oversaw United winning three and drawing one, the club have confirmed that Ruud van Nistelrooy as well as three other first-team coaches will leave.

MUFC released a statement on Ruud saying:

"Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend.

We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford.

Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel have also departed and we wish them all well for the future.

We will confirm the full men’s first team coaching composition in due course."

Final Thoughts

With the club saying that the new men's first-team coaching setup will be confirmed soon, I bet we all know who that will be.

van Nistelrooy as well as the other coaches mentioned only joined the club this season to replace the likes of Steve McClaren, Benni McCarthy and Mitchell van der Gaag who were part of Erik ten Hag's original coaching staff when he joined two years ago.

Kinda sucks for them to have to leave so soon but I guess it makes sense for all parties. Amorim is going to want to bring in his own guys, which he said was one of the conditions for him to join United, and so, to have all these other coaches who have no idea how to play Amorim ball would make no sense.

It would also mean having to explain to them how he wants his team to play and what he demands of them in terms of coaches, which will take time. Like this, Amorim brings in his coaches he's known for a while and they all understand exactly what they want from their team and can get straight to work in terms of implementing that style.

For Ruud, I am a little sad to see him go because he is a legend of the club and is my favorite striker of all time, but I feel like this is good for him as well although it may not feel that way.

I think he's shown his credentials as a manager and to go back to an assistant or even striking coach as some wanted, would be a downgrade. He's also probably got the manager bug and would want to be the main man at another club.

With his record as interim and the fact that the players only had positive things to say about him, I'm sure there will be a lot of other clubs lining him up as manager.

When Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked, his assistants Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna soon departed as well and went on to manage clubs in their own right. Carrick at Middlesborough and McKenna at Ipswich who got them promoted to the Premier League and just saw off an amazing win at Spurs.

That is the next step for Ruud. I believe he is a good enough coach to go and manage a club of similar stature to that of Ipswich whether in England or elsewhere.

I know that he turned down head coach roles at the likes of Burnley to be assistant to ten Hag at United. Little did he know he would get screwed over in a way by his fellow Dutchman.

As Ruud also said that he would like to manage United full-time some day, for Amorim to have someone like that basically gunning for his job would be a little awkward making this decision for Ruud to go a better one.

All that is left to say is thank you Ruud for steadying the ship, producing some good performances and results, and restoring some of the faith at the club.

I wish you nothing but the best and I hope you go on to do great things as a coach.

But as one goes out, another comes in.

Ruben Amorim was pictured at Carrington with the likes of CEO Omar Berrada, Sporting Director Dan Ashworth and Technical Director Jason Wilcox ahead of him taking over as manager from Erik ten Hag.

The new boss was seen greeting other members of staff at the training ground in a sort of intro to United for Amorim.

That's all that we've gotten of the new manager for now but no doubt, as the week goes on, we should be seeing a hell of a lot more.

Remember though, Amorim still doesn't have a work permit so cannot actually begin training the team at the moment, although with them all gone on international duty or holiday, it's not as if he has anyone to coach.

Bem-vindo Ruben.

There's a new sheriff in town 🤠.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
