As we know, Sir Alex Ferguson is the goat of managers with most of his greatness coming during his 27-year spell at United. Ever since retiring from management in 2013, Sir Alex became an ambassador for the club.

That is now at an end as Adam Crafton of The Athletic reports that Ferguson has been removed from those ambassadorial duties which are worth millions of pounds. He adds that all parties dealt with this news pretty soundly.

Despite not playing a part as an ambassador anymore, Sir Alex will remain at the club as a non-executive director and of course, be welcomed to attend games.

Final Thoughts

I don't actually have a problem with this nor see why anyone should.

As it seems that everyone involved is pretty content with the decision, that should be more reason to feel ok with the call that was made.

With United's current financial issue of not having enough money, cutting ties with roles like these makes sense, even if such ties are to the great man.

The club could use any penny they can get and saving millions of pounds sounds like a good bet. Knowing the club's financial problems, this decision would've probably been easier for Sir Alex to make.

He is also nigh on 83-years-old so I'm sure he could do with simply just attending games rather than any of this ambassadorial stuff even if it wasn't the most demanding of roles.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
