This is a big game for MUFC as Amorim has already had three losses in a row. Defeat to Everton would mean that would happen for a second time during his 3-month reign, not a record that he would want to add to all of the terrible ones he's already had.
Everton under David Moyes have been a different team since his return (preview) so it won't be an easy one for United to get the much-needed 3 points. However, with an injury boost, Amorim will be hoping that that will improve things for his team.
The manager confirms that the trio of Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro and Christian Eriksen will all be available for tomorrow after missing out last week's defeat due to injury and illness.
Amorim says that his players are "improving" and that their relationships, "even the sound of the training is different" but it's about translating what they do at training into games.
"I feel in training we are bonding and understanding the way we want to play, but then in a game, we struggle a lot."
While all the recent focus is on United facing Real Sociedad in the round of 16 of the Europa League, Amorim says that his focus is solely on tomorrow and "I just want to win against Everton."
On the Toffees, the 40-year-old feels that former United boss David Moyes has done an "amazing job" upon his return to Goodison Park. Everton have won four of their last five with Amorim believing that for them to have a turn of form, it shows the confidence they have thanks to what Moyes has done which will make this game difficult.

The Portuguese remains defiant in that "I stick to my beliefs and try to transmit that to the players." While he does try to adapt to his current squad, all he is concerned about is winning games.
Ruben Amorim believes that what happens during training doesn't occur during games as it can be the opposite whether for good or not. While his team are creating situations, "that is a good thing, but I think in this moment you can see when you watch the games, you can see more problems than solutions."
Final Thoughts
Good to have players returning especially Ugarte as we truly missed him in midfield. Casemiro was ok but was not the level of Ugarte as that midfield of the Brazilian and Bruno really wasn't it.
Ugarte has been one of our better players this season and made such a difference to that midfield. To have Yoro and Eriksen back will also mean that we will have something on the bench other than just youngsters.
They do look to be as one in training whenever we see the pictures and videos so at least there doesn't seem to be any bad blood (but you never know 🤷) yet those relationships and understandings just don't translate into games as they can sometimes look like a team of strangers.
I'm also not sure where the improvements are coming from because we look worse than we've ever been post Sir Alex Ferguson. I guess maybe in terms of that sound training as it could help to better the communication on the field but so far, nothing has improved.
I knew that he would say that his focus is just on Everton and to be honest, it cannot be anywhere else considering our position of 15th and terrible form in the league. We also just want to win against Everton as at the moment, while good performances would be ideal as well, getting the points on the board is more important.
Sticking to his beliefs is something that he has to do in my opinion. This is his style of play and we wanted this from a manager. The players have to adapt to his methods otherwise what was the point in hiring him?
It's interesting that he says that he tries to adapt to the players but I don't think he means in terms of changing the system and style but more in little details rather than anything drastic.
This period with Amorim has just made it clearer that these players are not good enough for United. For everyone saying he should change his way, maybe the club should change the players? They haven't had any issues making other redundancies and making other tough decisions so why not with the squad, where the proper changes need to be made?
