By now, everyone knows the interest United have in Wolves' Matheus Cunha. He's a player who's been linked with the club for a bit of time and now it seems that United are one step closer to securing their man.
Reports from all over are suggesting that Old Trafford appears to be Cunha's likely destination in the summer.
It was Simon Jones of the Mail Sport who broke this news last night with him saying that "Manchester United are inching closer to agreement with Wolves forward Matheus Cunha over a move to Old Trafford."
Fabrizio Romano says that United are "leading the race to sign Matheus Cunha...Personal terms are being discussed...Good feelings after initial contacts between Cunha and #MUFC."
The Athletic mention the same with all reports speaking about the £62.5m release clause United will have to pay to secure Cunha's signature. However, Laurie Whitwell says that Wolves are "open to intalments" when it comes to paying for this clause.
He also adds that United have financial regulations to consider when trying to bring the 25 year old to Old Trafford "but hope to free space by selling Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia."

This is a good start to the week. While it was a disappointing defeat to Cunha's Wolves on Sunday, it wasn't entirely unexpected especially when Amorim fielded a rotated side featuring youngsters Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson who made his debut.
United lost 1-0 and were subject to the double by Vitor Pereira's team, the first time they've managed to achieve that since 1980. Cunha had a quieter game than the one at Molineux in which he scored directly from a corner to help them to a 2-0 win but his exploits this season for his club have been of utmost importance as the Brazilian has scored 16 goals and grabbed 4 assists in his 31 matches, by far the most of any Wolves player.
He ticks all the boxes and is the exact type of player we should be looking to sign. I'm really happy with this development. We saw that Amorim spoke to Cunha at halftime in the tunnel and even in the defeat at Molineux which ramped up the rumors even further still. Fellow Brazilian Casemiro was also seen having a chat with Cunha post-match on Sunday. Maybe they were just catching up but you never know 🤷♂️.
A player like him would elevate us to a level we need to be at.
