Erik ten Hag's men got their first victory of the 24/25 pre-season as the Red Devils defeated Rangers at Murrayfield Stadium in Scotland.

Goals by Amad and young striker Joe Hugill gave ten Hag's team the win. The Ivorian's strike was a trademark of Arsenal's Bukayo Saka as Amad cut in off the right-wing and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that flew into the bottom corner giving former United 'keeper Jack Butland no chance.

Hugill's goal came in the 70th minute as he smashed the ball into the top of the net after hitting the inside of the post to give United the win.

This was also a game where we saw the new signing Leny Yoro in action, just two days after his official announcement. There were rumours of him starting this match but as he was just announced, many felt that this game was a little too soon for the Frenchman.

However, those rumours (obviously) proved to be true and he did impress, or as much as a new signing can impress on his debut in pre-season.

A repeat of the first game followed as Erik ten Hag replaced ten of the starters for the second half with only goalkeeper Andre Onana keeping his place. Speaking of the shot-stopper, this was his first pre-season game after having missed the defeat to Rosenborg as he remained in Manchester to improve his fitness.

This lack in sharpness did show as one could see that the Cameroonian just wasn't at the races. He was decent at shot-stopping but some of his passing was nowhere near good enough especially for a ball-playing goalkeeper.

This passing issue was a problem he had from last season and is something he absolutely has to focus on for the upcoming campaign. More work needs to be done by Onana.

This game was an improvement from the first simply because that was a shit performance and we couldn't be any worse. The result itself was already better than the loss in Norway.

We saw some good performances by some and some sluggish ones by others. A bit of a mixed bag which is something that we can expect in pre-season.

A player who came under some criticism was Casemiro after that loss on Monday. The Brazilian, who captained the side again, failed to flatter in his second 45 minutes for this pre-season as he looked off the pace once more. With performances like these (even in pre-season), his exploits from last season, and the interest he's receiving, perhaps it would be a good idea to part ways. He just doesn't look on it, does he?

Yoro was relatively good next to Jonny Evans as he was comfortable on the ball, put in some good blocks and made some top tackles. This all just gave us a taste of what is to come from him at United. A solid start by the 18-year-old.

Amad was a standout especially with his goal but every time he got the ball, he looked like he could make something happen. He is definitely putting his name in the hat for the manager to consider as a starting winger.

His counterpart Jadon Sancho had a bit of a hit-and-miss performance. He wasn't terrible but nor was he amazing. I suppose one can expect this from him after having been away from United for so long. I guess just seeing him out there in the red again is surprising in itself.

But he does need to tighten the screws should he want to compete for a starting berth.

There weren't too many other players that stood out and one can't really judge the style of play given the fact that several first-team players are missing and the manager changing the entire team at halftime to introduce some youngsters.

As we get some players back though, that's when we can start to truly see what this side is capable of.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
